In amongst the celebrations, the Australian music industry reflected on the passing of two dearly loved and respected ARIA Hall Of Fame Inductees, Mr Yunupingu and Chrissy Amphlett, who was paid homage to by a spellbinding performance of 'Pleasure And Pain' by ARIA Award winning artists, Hayley Mary from The Jezabels and Sally Whitwell.

Denis Handlin AM, ARIA Chairman and Chairman & CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Australia & New Zealand and President, Asia said: "The 27th Annual ARIA Awards were truly a great celebration of Australian music across a wide range of, genres, brilliant artists and performances. It was also an honour to induct Air Supply into the ARIA Hall of Fame and to remember the lives of two special artists lost to our industry in the past 12 months. We would like to thank all of the 2013 ARIA Awards presenting partners as well as Destination NSW, The Star and GO! for their valued support in making the ARIA Awards such a wonderful event."

NSW Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Arts, George Souris, has praised the 27th ARIA Award winners, saying it was wonderful to see so many artists from around Australia celebrating their music talents in Sydney, the home of the ARIA Awards and Australia's major events capital.

"The NSW Government, through our tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, is pleased to support the ARIA Awards and ARIA Week in 2013. "I congratulate all 27th Annual ARIA Award winners and wish them, and the Australian music industry, a successful and prosperous future."

Beloved Australian duo, Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell, better known as Air Supply, the band that have been delivering impeccably produced love songs for almost four decades, were inducted in to the ARIA Hall Of Fame to an overwhelming and rousing reaction from the crowd. ARIA congratulates one of Australia's most unique and successful musical stories.
